About Me

Hi, I'm Rohan Cheruku, a senior at UT Dallas studying Computer Science with a minor in Design. I started with CS because I loved building digital products, but realized it was way more fun doing it visually, which is what pulled me toward design. Turning a blank canvas into something real is my favorite kind of problem to solve. At the end of the day, I just want to make things that matter, and design is how I do that.

My Design Philosophy

I believe design should start with the person, not the pixel. Every choice comes back to empathy: who is using this, what do they need, and how can I make their day a little better? I care about inclusive, accessible experiences that genuinely change how people interact with the world.

If something does not make someone's life easier or put a smile on their face, I will keep iterating until it does. I also love pushing myself creatively, cooking up original ideas and visuals that feel fresh instead of formulaic.

Beyond the Screen

I love:

  • Quality time with my family and my dog
  • Hitting the pool table
  • Gaming sessions that turn into all-nighters
  • Spending way too much on Pokémon cards

Some of my work at the Association for Computing Machinery

As the Director of Design at ACM, I lead the design and production of all digital media, keeping the branding consistent across events, campaigns, and merchandise. These pieces run on the org's social channels and campus screens, with the most-viewed reaching well past 10,000 students.
